Mollyanne Baker is basically a self taught artist and has been painting on and off for over thirty years. Raising two children with her husband Ian, teaching primary and digging in the garden has not always allowed her enough time to paint. Now that Mollyanne has retired (from teaching only), she is back into painting with a passion

Thirty years ago, Mollyanne started painting portraits in oils on burlap. More recently, she has tried many new things, such as land and seascapes, still life, collage and gentle impressionism. Mediums range from water colour, acrylic, gouache, mixed medium and water base oils.

In the last five years, it has been an honour to have taken instruction from Lynda Faulks, Victor Arcega, Sue Coleman, Michaela Davidson and Odette de la Roche. One instructor described Mollyanne as a rototiller, she digs into her art until it is done. At present, Mollyanne is the president of the Crofton Art Group and vice president of the Visions Art Tour Society.

If you wish to see variety, welcome to Mollyanne's home studio on beautiful Quamichan Lake. Other than her love of painting, she wishes her images to tell you a lasting story.
