Kent Olinger - Silver / Copper Jeweller

Kent is a self-taught metalsmith now in his second decade of production. For many years he worked only in Sterling Silver, developing many of his own techniques. All of his works are individually cut and crafted by hand incorporating beads and semi-precious stones.

In the past few years, he has been working mostly with copper. His copper works, earrings, pendants, broaches, and hand-forged bowls and vessels are finished by enameling or a unique process called Flame Painting. The flame painting is produced by heating the metal with a fine-tipped torch creating multicolored patterns on its surface. The pieces are then lacquered to create a permanent finish.
