Irma Beltgens - Lampshade Designer and Painter

Swallowfield Studio is a mother and daughter collaboration showcasing lampshades, fine silver jewelry and paintings all inspired by the small details in nature. Irma grew up on a small island in coastal B.C. The rural surroundings and her parents insights combined to instill a great love nature at an early age which she continues to indulge and to use as a muse.

Irma handcrafts her one of kind lampshades from recycled copper wire, natural fabric and paper. Pressed botanicals are carefully arranged between these layers to create functional works of art. They display their pattern and texture when off but the warmth and fine details really come to life when the lamps are on.

Shades pass the CSA flammbability and safety tests and lamp bases meet CSA wiring standards. Shades and bases are available in several sizes and shapes.
