Brad Grigor - Digital Art & Photography10849 Olsen RoadLadysmith (Saltair), BC 250 606-7011 Turning Point Arts www.turningpointarts.com Studio Hours: 11am to 6pm, Tuesday to Saturday or by appointment. Closed all statutory holidays.
As a "digital" artist, I create my images within my computer. In effect, I "paint with pixels". Much of my work involves creating, manipulating and compositing many distinct visual elements to create a final image. My source materials include scanned sketches, original photography and elements I paint directly with a pen tablet. I produce my own museum-grade prints on canvas and fine art paper using a wide-format inkjet printer and pigment inks. I believe art needs to engage the observer intellectually, emotionally or spiritually and either tell a story or evoke a question. Therefore, I explore religious, political, spiritual and emotional themes in my images and frequently include people or the affect of people in my images. Faces, buildings, machines, man-made artifacts and handicrafts are common elements in my work, along with abstract shapes and patterns. I was honoured when my image "Wings" was selected for the "Gifted Artist Series" by Common Ground 2008, an organization that is merging new media, art and philanthropy to focus attention on - and raise money for - environmental projects worldwide. I also offer scanning, retouching, printing, design and art reproduction services for photographers, artists, decorators and designers.
